Bible Study/Journaling

6pm-7pm Bible Study

“FAITHfull: A Bible Art Journaling Study” combines storytelling, art, journaling and Scripture in its examination of the faith walk of four Old Testament women. Sarai, Naomi, Hannah and Rahab faced faith challenges in their lives that are much like the problems that women today must deal with. As we walk with them, we discover for ourselves the strength to be a warrior of the faith. These uniquely interactive lessons easily pair with journaling Bibles, yet can also be used with standard Bibles as a workbook. “FAITHfull” works as well for individual study as for groups. And for Bible Art Journaling instructors, it provides an easy to use template of Bible instruction to build your classes around. With its hands-on approach to Bible study, the dedicated student will delight in discovering her own pathway through the Word of God.
7pm-8pm Bible Jounaling
What Is Bible Journaling?  Bible journaling is an exciting way to engage with Scripture. It can transform the way you spend time in the Word and it all begins within the margins of the Bible. With Bible journaling, you will find a creative and fresh approach to the age-old discipline of Bible reading. With pen in hand, you can visually capture Scripture, meditate on God’s Word and memorize the text. Some choose to journal as an expression of private devotion, others journal as an act of worship and there are even some who consider it a creative outlet that can be shared. No matter what your purpose for Bible journaling, the beauty of the movement is this: it doesn’t require a skilled artist. All that matters is that you’re willing to experience God and His Word in a creative way.
You can choose to come to both Bible Study
and Journaling or just one. FAITHfull Study Book cost is $8

Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my God. Whenever I pray, I make my requests for all of you with joy, for you have been my partners in spreading the Good News about Christ from the time you first heard it until now. And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns . (Philippians 1:3-6 NLT)

Hello parents! I would like to welcome you and your children to our 2018-2019 Generation Next Children’s Ministry year! We are planning a kick-off pool party and would love to have all parents, children, and children’s ministry leaders attend and spend some time getting acquainted. Check your bulletins for the date and time! This year our children’s ministry theme will be Wisdom! We will be encouraging your children to memorize scripture and will especially be challenging the older children (3rd through 5th grade) to actively pursue wisdom by keeping journals of notes, questions, prayers ,etc. This month in Sunday morning JAM the children will be learning how Jesus shows his love and greatness. Wednesday nights will be new and exciting with music and game time added to help the children get excited about learning! Please feel free to come in and talk with any of the children’s leaders at any time. We are here to serve you and look forward to a new year with your children!

“Feed the Dog” Bible Study

Sundays @ Greater Hope
A man had two dogs. The one he fed grew the biggest.
There’s an old parable about a man who had two dogs that were constantly at war with each other.  One of the dogs was good, representing virtues like loyalty and kindness.  The other dog was bad, representing vices such as hatred and lust.  Which dog won in the end?  That’s easy: the one he fed.
In the same way, we have two fundamental natures battling for our attention on a daily basis—a sinful flesh and a righteous spirit. Through Christ, we have the ability to choose which nature we will “feed,” leading us either further away from or closer to His likeness.
Feed the Dog is a video-driven Bible study for middle and high school students (grades 7-12). Through the artistry of illusion and his unique gift of evangelism, Brock Gill guides students to realize the importance of nourishing the spirit through the daily practice of spiritual disciplines. Over the course of eight sessions, students will learn that spiritual disciplines are something we develop over time. With practice and perseverance, students will be able to discern the truth and focus on what’s important. They will “taste and see that the Lord is good” (Ps. 34:8), growing in their relationship with Christ and pointing others to Him.
Based on Acts 4:31
After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was
shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke
the word of God boldly.

“For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.’ Then these righteous ones will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink? Or naked and give you clothing? When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ “And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it for me!'”   (Matthew 25:35-40 NLT)
